Bike To Work & Wherever Day 2019
Philadelphia’s 2019 Bike To Work & Wherever Day was May 17! Nationally this day is celebrated as Bike to Work Day, but this year we wanted to make sure anyone who chooses a bicycle for transportation — even for one day, no matter where you’re going — feels comfortable, encouraged, confident, and celebrated for moving around Philly by bike!
Every time you ride your bike you’re doing a good thing for our earth, your city, and yourself. Increasing the per capita cycling share is part of our mission, so THANK YOU to everyone who took the pledge to ride a bike on May 17th.
We hosted two Energizer Stations on Friday morning: at Penn Museum (33rd and South Streets) and The Rail Park (entrance on Broad & Noble Streets). Riders came through for a free morning yoga class, coffee, cookies, on-the-bike snacks, swag, bike checkups, e-scooter demos, and more!
We also lead a group ride from each Energizer Station to Center City/Dilworth Plaza.

Bike Phriendly Business Awards
The Bicycle Coalition put out a call for Philly’s most Bike Phriendly Business for businesses that go above and beyond to encourage employees to bike to work. This year’s winners were announced at the Bike to Work & Wherever Day Press Conference at City Hall on Friday morning: Jacobs Engineering, SIG LLP, and District Taco!
